Hole in One Adds Excitement to Minneapolis Outing

The long drive contest on the 15th hole was won by Nancy Holdgrafer of Eden Prairie, MN as she played in her first foreUS event. Another returning participant, Bernie Scolaro won the longest putt contest on the 9th hole and, of course, Jody Pickering won the closest to the pin contest, although she did that on the 4th hole – and not with her hole in one shot! Congratulations to our contest winners.
At the end of the event awards were presented as the participants mingled in our cook out pavilion. Chef Carron provided all the fixins for a great cook out that allowed the golfers and volunteers to get to know each other better after the competition. All participants agreed this would be one of their highly anticipated events in the coming years as we agreed to create a regional series of events in the Midwest.

Stay tuned for more details on our regional series so you can make plans to participate in this great and exciting golf tour just for us!

Jody Pickering, of Sioux City, IA scored the first foreUS sanctioned event Hole in One during our Minneapolis outing in August. Jody wowed the group with her Hole in One (her second) on the par 3, 113 yard, 17th hole and she even bought the traditional round of drinks for the group afterwards – can’t beat that! All participants enjoyed sharing Jody’s accomplishment.

The group joined together for a four person scramble while competing in long drive, closest to the pin and long putt contests. The spirit of competition was fierce but with FUN being the real order of the day.
